The results of the present study suggest that patients with primary hypercholesterolaemia who were randomized to take Crestor, an oral cholesterol lowering drug, were significantly more likely to have a higher incidence of primary hypercholesterolaemia (defined as a total cholesterol of greater than or equal to 5 mmol/L) and a lower incidence of primary hypercholesterolaemia (defined as a total cholesterol greater than or equal to 10 mmol/L) than were patients randomized to Crestor monotherapy.
Crestor® was also shown to be a more effective treatment for the prevention of coronary heart disease than other treatment approaches, including oral simvastatin (Zocor®), gemfibrozil (Lipitor®), or its combination with gemfibrozil (Zocor® XR). These findings were also confirmed by the results of a recent double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, which showed that the combination of rosuvastatin (Crestor®) with simvastatin (Zocor®) was as effective as the combination of rosuvastatin monotherapy in the prevention of coronary heart disease.
The overall prevalence of primary hypercholesterolaemia in the study was 7.1%. The results of the present study suggested that patients who were at high risk of coronary heart disease and who were treated with Crestor® (Crestor®) were less likely to have a primary hypercholesterolaemia than were those who were treated with Crestor monotherapy. This finding is consistent with the results of a study in which a total of 11,755 patients were treated with simvastatin, 10,898 patients with a total cholesterol of greater than or equal to 5 mmol/L, and 11,366 patients with a total cholesterol greater than or equal to 10 mmol/L who received rosuvastatin, compared with patients treated with the standard treatment of LDL cholesterol.
This study also suggested that patients who were at high risk of coronary heart disease and who were treated with Crestor® (Crestor®) were less likely to have a primary hypercholesterolaemia than those who were treated with Crestor monotherapy. This finding is consistent with the results of a study in which the incidence of primary hypercholesterolaemia was 5.9%, compared with 1.1% for patients treated with the standard treatment of LDL cholesterol, and 1.6% for patients treated with simvastatin, compared with 3.7% for patients treated with the standard treatment of LDL cholesterol.

When AstraZeneca decided to sell its cholesterol-lowering drug Crestor, the world market was already saturated. AstraZeneca is not alone in its struggle. The drug's share price has soared in the past several years, and Crestor has been a hit among patients and insurers for years. In April, the U. S.
